Summary:

According to Matt Ford’s article, the high-tech products what showed in Las Vegas all took the promising that they would change our lives. Based on "cut through the greenwash", manufacturers tried to change their product to reduce the pollution of the environment. The toxic materials in electronics could be recycling for the economic motivation. But the process of recycling was also pollutes the environment. The Nokia, Apple, Sony Ericsson were becoming the leader to eliminate some of the most harmful substances in their products. Samsung tried to remove these substances. There are 18 ranked companies have promised to eliminate at minimum the detrimental things. The Greenpeace keep putting brand on the spotlight, and they think customers have the most powerful influence.

Reaction:

After reading this article, I know that many electronics all have some dangerous and harmful parts. For example, when you brought a new computer, you have made new a pollutant. Actually, we can’t make an environmentally friendly production because of the limit technology. But, all of the producers are thinking about the environment problem. In the article, the author talks a lot that, some famous companies try to reduce the pollution of their production, because they have the responsibility to do it, so that, they developed the eco-product. I think this is a good current, and it could make the consumers thinking about some new kinds of problems, such as the problems about energy efficient and contain toxic substances.
